That last post I shared speaks to me on a deeper level than I think the original creator wanted. Studying theology and different ontological philosophies and such over the years and decades, it seems to me nothing short of blasphemy to imagine that God just makes us and sticks with us as far as the womb, and then everything after that is all us and has nothing to do with them — like God just winds us up and then lets us go, without being in their power.
Only in narrow-minded western dualism does the notion prevail that whatever we do is separate and can supersede divine command. So next time you hear someone saying that those of us who become something other than what conservative values insist we should be are going against God, inform them you had no idea they were a deist.
