so I've had to buy a new laptop after all. It would cost $250 to repair this one that cost me $250 in the first place.
By "new" I mean "very refurbished" and by "laptop" I apparently mean "jet engine". I brought it home and it boots at 90°C and roars like that the whole time it's in the BIOS. And now because my work gives me no time off I have to wait until Thursday to exchange it.
