I've thought a lot lately about how much less curious I am — probably we all are — now we're adults, than when we were children. But had the stray realization today that maybe we aren't, we just come to it, and from it, in different ways. An adult isn't necessarily less curious than a child, but we're less humble.
Example:
Me as a child: "Why is there a concrete wall in the middle of the road there?"
Me as an adult: "Goddammit, why is there a barrier here? No fucking reason at all!"
I still ask the questions. I just also then assume that I probably know the answer better than, well, in this case, the person who set up the barrier. I'm curious, and then in my hubris, I answer my own question, and them progress to just being emotional about it or making other decisions based on the self-given answer.
