Remember that, historically and today, things are hard specifically for the people who don't commit violence. They will use threats of escalation against us to try to cow us again, but it's because, at last, they're scared, and the worst thing we can possibly do is back down.
Black rights were won through violence. LGBT rights, violence. Your five day workweek, violence. People fought, died, and indeed sometimes killed for these things.
