Y'know, in hindsight, I'm grateful for all the troubles I had with #
Hubzilla. I installed it, and it functioned just enough for me to want it to function fully. Most of the issues were my own fault, but I had to dive in and figure them out and fix them mostly myself — and that was
just enough to give me the insight into its structure to think, you know, I could actually improve a tiny bit on this, making it the first bit of open source software I actually have made those little improvements and modifications to, myself.
The same thing happened to me with #
Linux: I went from "Fine, as long as I don't have to use the terminal" to "Okay this is actually really cool, except for these two (2) things are broken, what do I do about that?" to "Give me
more things to break!"
