The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK KFA UK ),)issued the following joint statement in support of the press statement made by KPA Lieutenant General Ko Jong Chol, vice-chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army which titled "
Dangerous provocation inciting military conflict in the southern border area should be stopped immediately" which was issued on the 22nd ;
KPA vice-chief of General Staff Lt Gen Ko Jong Chol, who is the commanding officer for southern border management and security , made an important statement which clarified the situation on the southern border of the DPRK . Recently the south Korean puppets spread false rumours and allegations.
In actual fact the DPRK has undertaken a barrier project to permanently block the southern border with the ROK. This is a legitimate exercise of the DPRK's sovereignty , a just measure to secure its borders which no one can object to .
However on the 19th of August the ROK puppets fired at KPA soldiers who were working on the barrier project .The ROK puppets claimed it was warning shots . However they had been informed in advance what was happening so there was no reason to fire warning shots . This was clearly a provocation against the DPRK . As Lt Gen Ko Jong Chol pointed out "
This is a very serious prelude that would inevitably drive the situation in the southern border area where a huge number of forces are stationing in confrontation with each other to the uncontrollable phase and the DPRK army is keeping tabs on the present situation."
The ROK puppets are also continuing with loudspeaker broadcasts despite claims that they had dismantled the loudspeakers .
Our organisations denounce the continued provocations of the ROK puppets and US imperialists and support the sovereign right of the DPRK to secure its borders .
