If any of y'all still think Israeli is a genuine ethnicity, just have a look at the names of its leaders — bearing in mind that the national language is Hebrew.
Hebrew which, by the way, was an extinct language for around 1400 years, when it was finally revitalized by Zionists in the 1800s. They took a lot of liberties with modernizing it, taking terms from around Europe and the Arabic world. A language is one of the main ways by which we define an ethnocultural group, and by this key metric, no one was Israeli for one and a half thousand years. It is even more of an artificial ethnic identity — let's be frank, a larp — than Mussolini's claim to Imperial Rome.
Around 43% of people living in Israel today were born outside of Israel. That is, they came specifically from another country in order to help the Israeli colonial project. And if you think that isn't actually what's often on their minds: somehow, 49% of Israelis claim Hebrew to be their native language — meaning a good 10% either somehow were raised by parents outside of Israel who taught them Hebrew, or else they're lying out of this sense of Zionist ultranationalism.
Recently, a statistic showing that around three quarters of Israelis support the complete removal of the Palestinian people from #
Palestine. This figures to almost the same percentage of people living in Israel who are not, themselves, ethnic Arabs (22%).
This is not an antisemitic post; plenty of Jewish organizations around the world recognize the same facts and agree with me when I say: No, Israel does
not have the right to defend itself. It does
not actually have the right to exist. It is a colonial project that was explicitly genocidal from the start, and it continues to be a nation full of, ironically, genocidal antisemites.
Because yes: Palestinians are, ethnically, Semites. These Americans and Russians and whoever else who have dedicated their lives to killing them are
not. They share a religion that claims to be Judaism in the same way that American Evangelicals claim to be Christian: absolutely butchering their presumed faith, ignoring every important part of it, in order to justify atrocities. Israel is not a nation of Jews, it is a nation of murderers.
We say "from the river to the sea", and we mean it: End the genocidal state of #
Israel completely, and deport its colonists back where they came from.
