Hi,

Brand new user. I joined a hub that doesn't have the apps I need, I want to move to another (which is called 'cloning', right? Or 'moving'?). But the help documentation only has a placeholder for a future link.

Note: To transfer files, it is advisable to download them as a file under App menu - Channel export - Export content and then import them during cloning using App menu - Content import. If necessary, the Channel export app must still be installed on the main channel (

UPDATE:
After waiting & waiting for hubzilla.de to send me a verification code, I've given up on them.

Looking at

https://hubzilla.org/pubsites for ones that are free, open and relatively up to date (10.x):

- Trollskog.de: server not found
- am-networks.fr: warning, potential security risk ahead
- werkbuch.org: not found
- netzgemeinde.eu: It loads! :) Appended siteinfo/json to URL... and it has the plugins I need :) And they sent me a verification code. Straight away! :)

Will get that profile set up and then move on to the next step.

PS: whenever I like a reply... it disappears!

Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the content import to work.

On diaspo.it, I

- Installed Channel Export app
- Exported channel to file (.json)

On netzgemeinde, I

- Installed Channel Import app
- Imported file (choosing to make netzgemeinde my primary hub)

Channel imported but content failed.

Automatic content and files import was not possible due to API version incompatiblity. Please import content and files manually!

So on diaspo.it

- Channel export > export content (.zip file)

On netzgemeinde

- Installed Content Import App
- Opened Content Import App
- - Original Server base URL:

- - Include Posts: Yes
- - Include Files: Yes
- - Dates: (I didn't touch them)
- - - Since modified: 0001-01-01 00:00:00
- - - Until modified: 2025-09-18 23:51:03
- - Clicked "Submit"

But nothing happens. Also I see no way to upload the .zip file produced by Channel export > Content export.

Presumably, I did something wrong but I can't tell what.
