Hi! I wanted to make my first post on Lemmygrad about my partner’s efforts to make North Korean animation (SEK Studio), as well as North Korean dubs of foreign animation, more accessible to people outside of the DPRK. This includes subtitles in multiple languages! Majority of these subs are made in the DPRK for international publication, it’s just that they aren’t able to easily publish them as western social media platforms will always eventually ban any North Korean owned account.
For the unsubbed animation, my partner has been watching and scrubbing through daily streams of the DPRK’s main television network. They clip these never seen before animations (outside of the DPRK) and upload them onto their YouTube channel. They’ve been working on this for awhile. I’m not exactly sure how well known their content is in ML circles, so I thought people here might be interested in this.
