trans I'm not CWing this, cuz everyone needs to know: There's a chance it may just be a blip, but there's a good chance that the LGBT and in particular the furry community will very rapidly be forced into the front line as the first on the chopping block by the USA's "Final Solution" type fascist escalation. This escalation
will happen, it's inevitable at this point, it's just a matter of who will be targeted first, and it's looking more and more like it's going to be us. We've now got several mainstream news outlets calling everyone who's ever looked up Redrusker's art a pedophile. So I think it's safe to say that this is not a drill.
The time to start organizing was years ago, so you need to start
now:
- Get off of unencrypted platforms. Stop talking on Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord, period. Remove yourself from these platforms entirely. The sooner you do this, the less likely it will be able to be easily used against you in the case that it comes to that. Your options are Signal and Matrix.
- Start educating yourself and others. I'm going to say it very bluntly here: There is a reason that all the "tankies" know just what's happening before it happens. There's a science to it, and there's likewise a science to understanding what's going on and what to do about it, and how to organize. Join local groups, join online groups — hell, message me, if you like, to get a starting point.
- Start organizing. Reach out to anyone and everyone that you can and talk about how you can support each other and build power. The absolute worst thing we can do right now is scatter like cockroaches. We need to be able to stand up strong and fight back.
Those of us outside of the United States should prioritize helping those who are in the United States as much as possible. This can be financially, for organizations fighting fascism. This can be actively helping people do the above points by showing them how and helping them make connections. This can be simply in offering as much moral support as you can. Our community is, unfortunately, very mentally unhealthy, and I know many people's reaction to this will be to simply break down and surrender. Make sure your friends do not do that.
This isn't a drill, this shit is very real, and the sooner you accept that, the better chance we have of making it through this.
